VOX Vocal Ensemble present In the Garden.

To celebrate the Ballarat Begonia Festival, vocal ensemble VOX present a program of a cappella choral music inspired by the world of flowers in Ballarat’s greenest venue, Botanica.

Benjamin Britten’s magnificent Five Flower Songs will be the centrepiece for the program which will also include a selection of the Fire-Flowers by Canadian composer Don McDonald. The concert will include works by James MacMillan, Morten Lauridsen, Gerald Finzi, Ola Gjeilo, Australian composers Percy Grainger and Matthew Orlovich and more.

VOX have been presenting choral music in Ballarat and the region since 2005. They are known for the broad ranging exploration of choral music and the high quality of their performance. The size of the group has varied over the years. For this concert, they return to a line-up of eight singers – Lyndell Allen, Tom Bubner, Peter Freund, Fleur Goodman, Kyle Hackwill, Alison Ho, Lane Hyde and Amber van Dreven.

Tickets are $30, Concession $25, Student $10 and Primary school aged child free.
