This year’s Ballarat Begonia Festival proudly celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Robert Clark Conservatory, a beloved landmark in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
Designed by renowned architect Peter Elliot, the Conservatory has been a showcase of breathtaking floral displays, a sanctuary of rare and exotic plants and a symbol of Ballarat’s rich horticultural heritage since its opening in 1995. Over three decades, it has welcomed countless visitors, inspiring a love for nature and gardening in the community.
As we mark this milestone in 2025, we honour the vision behind its creation and the dedication of those who have nurtured it, ensuring it remains a treasured space for generations to come.
The Begonia Garden Team is thrilled to present this year’s display, inspired by the timeless beauty of romance. With the elegance of sculptured topiary balls and manicured hedging woven seamlessly through our rare and unique begonia collection, visitors will be transported to an era of old-world-charm. Hints of lavender fragrance fill the air, while the tranquil sounds of flowing water create a serene ambiance. The stunning bursts of colour from the begonias will captivate the senses, making every step through the display a truly enchanting experience. We invite you to wander, pause and immerse yourself in this romantic floral display.
